My name’s Xanthea. I grew up in Perth, now living in Melbourne. I’ve run gigs in laundromats, living rooms and actual music venues. My early 20s was a blur of managing bands, busking as a living statue, and playing sad piano music wherever people would let me.
I started Clap Hands as a music management company in 2013. Right now, this is now more a platform where I share my writing — mainly about Australia's music community. Music is the most important thing in the world to me and the music industry the most frustrating, but I’m trying to slowly make sense of it in my writing. I am a proud feminist and a relatively new director of the music organisation LISTEN. If you book a show through Cool Perth Nights, you’ll probably get a couple of emails from me too — I work in administration. Before I moved to Melbourne, I spent every second of my spare time presenting radio at RTRFM 92.1. I miss it aggressively and love to present shows whenever I’m back in Perth.
